Climax Studios, which played the support team in making Returnal, is working on a new exclusive console game.
Housemarque game studio has collaborated with Climax studio several times to date. In fact, Climax was the backbone studio for various projects of the Finnish Hussmark team, such as the PlayStation 5 Returnal game. Now Climax Studios on LinkedIn says it is working on “an AAA project for a first-party publisher.” This studio is looking to hire a senior stage designer.
“This is a great opportunity to work with a passionate and experienced team of game designers,” Climax wrote in the official text. Gameszardar Media explained that the work in question would clearly be a proprietary console game, and we do not yet know exactly what the UK-based studio is doing. In addition to Return, Climax collaborated with Housemarque Studios on the PlayStation 4 Resogun and the PlayStation 3 version of Dead Nation.
Of course, Climax Studios has been in the gaming industry for many years. Did you know that Silent Hill: Origins was one of Climax Studios’ works? This exclusive PSP Silent Hill was released in 2007. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was also made by Climax Studios. Konami had two serious collaborations with the Climax team after the destruction of Team Silent.
The studio’s track record includes a variety of horror videos. Will the new exclusive game be scary too? We do not know. Maybe Climax will once again work as a backup studio on projects owned by one of the first-party studios.
