MiHoYo Studio announced the release of a big update for Genshin Impact in the first days of 2022, which brings a lot of content to the game.

According to the latest game news, MiHoYo Studio has announced that it will start the new year with a major update to the Genshin Impact role-playing action game. Version 2.4, Fleeting Colors in Flight, will be available to players on January 5, 2022, bringing the Lantern Rite Festival with prizes, region, enemies, and two new playable characters for Genshin Impact.

The annual Lantern Rite event gives players the opportunity to receive a free 4-star Liyue character and again offers them the opportunity to win “exquisite” prizes. Genshin Impact’s new game area is known as Enkanomiya; The ruins of an ancient underwater civilization that gamers can explore.

“Unlike other Inasuma Islands, Incanomia is a large floating island under the ocean that is constantly eroded by the Abyss or Abyss,” Mihoyo Studio wrote of the area. The ancestors of the people of Wattsumi Island once lived there and left the ruins of an ancient civilization that is older than any other ancient remains found on land. “Players will find a way to use Dainichi Mikoshi, the artificial sun of ancient civilization, by solving puzzles and exploring the depths of the hidden Enkanomiya area, where day and night have no meaning.”

Enkanomiya has new dangerous enemies, but players will have new companions to deal with the threats. The two new playable characters are Shenhe five stars and Yun Jin four stars. Shenhe character uses Cryo power and with his main skill can increase the Element Skills and the amount of damage to the members of the adjacent group. On the other hand, Yun Jin character is equipped with Geo Vision power and can strengthen the normal attacks of his teammates.

The 2.4 update to Genshin Impact also brings games, booths, vendors and other festivals to the Liyue Harbor area. Genshin Impact is currently available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Android and iOS platforms, and will hit the Nintendo Switch console at an unspecified time.
