Sega announced that various episodes of the Yakuza game series have sold a total of about 2.8 million copies on PC.
The Yakuza Group is constantly striving to expand its target audience, and developers’ plans to achieve this goal have worked well. Because Yakuza sales on PC reached about 2.8 million copies. This game series, which was sometimes only available in Japan or was monopolized for a long time, is now available on various platforms. Sega has now reached the point where it offers every major or minor part of the Yakuza game series on as many platforms as possible simultaneously in different parts of the world.
For example, Yakuza 3 was released in 2009 only for the PlayStation and only in Japan. Now you can easily experience it on Microsoft’s Xbox consoles, Sony PlayStation and of course PCs anywhere in the world by purchasing the Yakuza Remastered Collection.
Sega specifically emphasized that Yakuza: Like a Dragon, a 2020 product, was able to have a strong performance in terms of sales on personal computers. As mentioned, we now know that all of the Yakuza games (the main episodes, both the spin-off episodes of Kiwami and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which brought the series into a new era) together sold about 2.8 million copies on the PC platform. According to Sega, it seems that a significant part of this sale is dedicated to the acclaimed game Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which was released simultaneously on various platforms, including PCs in all countries.
In the meantime, it should not be forgotten that none of the episodes of the Spin-off Judgment series (Judgment game and Lost Judgment game) unfortunately have not been released on personal computers yet. Thanks to Yakuza’s success on the Sega PC platform, he believes that the lifespan of the set has increased.
