Undead Labs, the creator of State of Decay 3, has apparently recently established a new animation studio with Unreal Engine 5.
According to the latest game news, a Twitter user named eXtas1stv recently noticed an interesting item in the personal LinkedIn profile of Behnam Simon Evil Has been. Evil was involved in the animated demo of The Matrix Awakens, which was developed based on the Unreal Engine 5 engine, as the technical consultant for the animation department, and now mentions on his LinkedIn account that he is working for Undead Labs, the creator of the State of Decay game series. The new studio is in Orlando, Florida.
The new studio is expected to develop animations using Unreal Engine 5 for Andes Labs and other Xbox game studios. Sherr describes his new responsibility as follows: “Establishment of a new studio for Microsoft under the supervision of Andes Labs, who will be directing animation and working on animation technology in Unreal Engine 5, and in addition to Undead Labs, the creator of State of Decay 3, “It will expand its collaboration with other Xbox studios in the field of animation technology.”
This indicates that State of Decay 3 is being developed with Unreal Engine 5. It could also mean that the new studio will not only work with Andes Labs, but will also be helping other Xbox studios build games. Overall, it looks like Microsoft is keen to invest more in Unreal Engine 5 and its powerful animation tools in order to possibly deliver Matrix-quality demo games to gamers in the next few years.
