Every year since 2019, Supermacio Games has released a new game from this horror series. So far, three games from the Dark Pictures series have been released: The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan and Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope and Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. The fourth edition of the first season of the series, called The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, will be released on an unknown date from 2022. It is also possible that the five games mentioned above are for the second season of Dark Pictures.

Copenhagen-based entertainment company Nordisk Games bought a 31% stake in Supercave Games Studios in 2021. The company has already invested in various game studios across Europe or added them to its subsidiaries. Nordisk Games, for example, is wholly owned by Avalanche Studios, creator of the Just Cause series, and Mad Max, and owns studios such as Raw Fury, publisher of Call of the Sea, and MercurySteam, creator of Matroid: Samus. Supercive Games was the ninth studio and the first British company to be added to the Nordisk Games portfolio.
